Blood and Soil

Hello to those that are left of my readers.

I’m sorry I haven’t posted for a long time, but I’ve been in the midst of some important events in my life; events about which it seemed inappropriate to blog, but which have so filled my consciousness that I simply didn’t feel I had anything else to usefully write.

So, I guess I owe a big thanks to Nick Griffin and the BNP, who have got me back at my desk and writing again. I know hundreds, if not thousands of bloggers have had their say about the nazi scumbags, but it is such a big issue that I felt it appropriate to add my voice to the chorus of disgust.

I’ve followed their doings for the longest time; in fact, on my first ever go on the interweb, I spent the evening looking at far-right websites, somewhat to the surprise of the bloke who owned the computer I had borrowed for the night.  During the European Election, I took great pleasure in making crank calls to the BNP hotline; my favourite being the one where I asked if they could provide me with a Welsh translation of their material; they couldn’t, oddly, which is a little rich when you consider that Welsh is an ‘indigenous’ British language. And in case you haven’t yet got your Hope Not Hate T-shirt, then why not?

But just in case you don’t spend hours following their website, YouTube postings, and blogs, then have a look at this clip. The BNP clearly like this one, as one of their supporters has posted this, and the comments which accompany it are clearly by BNP supporters. Just in case you think that this a lady who just speaks off the cuff, you should know that she has stood as a BNP candidate in Birmingham, and that this is a prepared speech that she is making. A prepared speech in which she goes out of her way to point out that the BNP are Nationalists; er, and Socialist.  Which is to say, they are National Socialists. This, remember, is the modern, officially approved face of the BNP. She concludes her rant by saying that she has ‘Blood and history on this soil’.  So, this evil, sick, hate-filled woman, who says ‘we’re not interested in bloody Nazi Germany’ is, by anybody’s standards, a nazi, by her own admission. In case you were wondering, the MOBO awards, the Black Police Association etc. are open to ‘ethnic whites’. In 2008, I was part of a writing team which was nominated for a South Bank  Show Decibel award (which is for work by Black and Asian artists) for the play ‘White Open Spaces’, and I’m not exactly black, by anybody’s standards.

And just in case you don’t regularly visit the BNP website, here’s a charming link to their online shop. Racist? The BNP? Surely not…

One of the things that people say to me about living in Presteigne is that it’s ‘not the real world’; and sometimes they have a point. One of the most horrible things I’ve read about Nick Griffin is that he chooses to live in Powys because his kids are brought up amongst a largely white populatiion. Griffin lives in Llanerfyl, not far from Welshpool.  The BNP are here in Mid Wales, which is as real as it can get.

  1. Good to have you back Mr Marchant. The BNP have scored a massive 37000 votes in Wales. That’s 37000 people wilfully voting for a National Socialist Party. And if that’s not enough, non-voters are making these votes matter even more.

Irony abounds. Billy Bragg played Cardigan last weekend, not my cup tea, but big respect for a righteous campaigner against facism. I wonder how many at the gig voted? I watched 5 people leave for the gig from my house, not one who had voted.

    Anyway; onward and upward eh?

  2. I used to think that South Wales, at least, was quite internationalist, what with stories of Basque child refugees coming into the Valleys and Paul Robeson singing with the miners, and… er, and so on. But I was in Newport earlier in the year and watched a demonstration against the Israeli occupation of Gaza

    Newport 1a

…and then got into trouble with a white thug who ranted about how I should be taking pictures of homeless LOCAL people etc etc. He hadn’t actually seen me taking pics of the demo, and this was some distance away; he just saw the camera and I guess I didn’t look local (uniform: Primark trackies)

    …..hello again!

  3. I believe I have his address but as it could be erroneous I’m loath to post it here.

  4. And I left the country because I was fed up of the Conservative government. Now I really don’t recognise the place. Still at least there’s some lovely music like:

    West Wind
A collection of nationalist songs penned by Nick Griffin, leader of the British National Party.

Makes me pine for home – or an enema…

  5. This year I was lucky enough to have been sent on an ‘equality and diversity awareness’ tranining by Powys Local Health Board.

The same local health board who employ Mrs Griffin wife of the aforementioned Nick – she too is a hate filled peddler of moral indignation and subscriber to nazi ideation.

Check Guardian article below – quote –

This was evident at a party meeting last Friday in Preston when Jackie Griffin, mother of four children, smoothly bought a discussion about education round to race.

‘The education of our children is something that this party is particularly anxious about,’ she said. ‘I live in a tiny village in Wales where the local school has 100 students.

‘Even in the middle of nowhere, there are three mixed race children in that school,’ she added, to gasps of outrage from the assembled gathering. ‘It’s terrible. Disgusting. Talk about the tide climbing higher and higher; there’s nowhere left to escape; we’ve no choice now but to stand and fight.’

At the Equality training I asked how odd it was that we were being taught this, by the people who employed her. They took the completely narrow minded approach that it was ‘acceptable as not done in work, and we are allowed to voice are political views’.

Speaking as a nurse I fail to see how this doesn’t impact on her ability to give ‘care’ to the people of her qoute ‘tiny village in Wales where the local school has 100 students.’

These people are able to read these comments in National (haha) press – The Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2003/sep/21/uk.thefarright

The NMC (Nursing and midwifery council) governing body of Nursing have a policy re. such things –
    Equality and Diversity

The NMC values the diversity of our staff, nurses and midwives and the wider community we serve. Our passion and drive is for this diversity to be reflected in everything we do.

The Equality and Diversity department provides practical guidance and help for NMC employees, helping them meet the legal requirements and also to understand the wider issues of equality and diversity.

Through our equality schemes we aim to demonstrate how we provide equality of opportunity in all areas of our work.

    Valuing diversity is

    * valuing people
    * recognising them for their skills, experience and talent
    * treating them fairly irrespective of race, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief and gender

This goes beyond merely complying with the legislation and ultimately improves the performance of our organisation.

As you see Jackie is completely able to meet this remit in her place of employment in Powys.

Feel free to bring it to the attention of local media or Nursing and Midwifery Council after all they support the continued existence of four nurses named on the ‘leaked’ BNP list.

    See statement below.
Following the recent publication of the membership of the British National Party BNP, , the NMC would like to remind nurses and midwives that while you are free to join the BNP which is a lawful political party, as part of your Code of Conduct you must demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to equality and diversity.

The NMC does not forbid anyone on the register from being a member of any lawful political party or organisation. However, your fitness to practise could be called into question if you allow your political views or personal beliefs to contribute to behaviour that was contrary to your Code.

Jackie obviously is concordance with this then………

Now then, I’m off to find the suicidal rook that has bloodied my windows by repeatedly attacking them leaving my front door a mass of feathers, rook blood and snot. looked like a massacre yesterday morning – God knows what the post man thought – I just feel lucky to have come home to find my house suprisingly free of a forensics team. Now, Where’s my gun?…….

  6. oops, sorry did I just rant?

  7. Mr
    Nick
    Griffin
    Y Gribin, Llanerfyl
    Y Trallwng

    Powys

  8. The thing that drives me absolutely mad about Griffin’s family’s move to Maldwyn is that they always portray it as an escape from multiculturalism.

People in the hills behind Newtown/Y Drenewydd and Welshpool/Y Trallwng speak two completely different languages: How much more bloody multicultural do you want to get?

For me, you don’t really need to know anything more about the moronic arrogance of the BNP than this. It’s not multiculturalism that they’re worried about at all, is it? It’s brown people. Clearly.

Do they really think we’re as stupid as they are?
